The Pollution Prevention Center is a non-governmental
and not-for-profit organization, established in 1995 and developed under a not
reimbursable technical and financial assistance program granted by the United
States Agency for International Development (USAID) and administrated by the
American organization World Environment Center until March 1999.
PPC works and cooperates with qualified personnel,
possessing extensive industrial experience, part of them being trained in the
implementation of Environmental Management Systems according to ISO 14000 series
standards requirements and of programs for pollution prevention/cleaner production/waste
minimization and energy conservation in industrial plants, through programs
organized and financed by USAID, UNIDO, UNEP, OECD and REC for the representatives
of Cleaner Production/Pollution Prevention Centers from Central and Eastern
Europe, owns specific information, modern logistic (including portable monitoring
and laboratory equipmen).
